OBITUARY by Maureen Vreeland

Hector Jarvis, lifetime resident of Alligator Bayou, Florida, was called home by the Lord on September 7, 2011. Best known as the proprietor of the Bayou Rest Motel, a resort handed down through generations of his family. Hector’s hobbies included alligator wrestling, and concocting the most potent moonshine in Florida and all contiguous states. Managing to evade the law on every occasion but one while peddling his wares, Hector was sentenced to serve two years in prison for his transgressions, but persuaded the judge to give him community service so as not to deprive his pet alligator, Daisy, of his care and companionship.
